Barbara Lee Steigerwald, J.D.

As Chief Counsel and Chief of Staff to New York State Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr., Barbara Lee advised the Senator on legislative and budgetary matters and negotiated legislation in the areas of Consumer Protection, Identity Theft and Privacy Protections and Alcohol and Drug Related Offenses.

Barbara Lee also held the position of Senior Analyst with the Senate Finance Committee where she was responsible for the analysis, development and negotiation of Health and Medicaid portions of the State budget. She reviewed legislation for possible consideration by the New York State Senate and served as staff to the Senate Majority Medicaid Reform Task Force.

Her Senate career began as an Associate Counsel to New York State Senator Kenneth P. LaValle, Chairman of the Senate Higher Education Committee. In addition to working on the Senator's legislation, she coordinated and monitored legislative grants and worked with state and local government agencies to address the needs of constituents from the Senator's legislative district.

Barbara Lee is a graduate of St. John's University School of Law and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from SUNY Binghamton.
